The CIT and Leaders Camp program is designed for teens who are ready to take their Y experience to the next level. More than just a camp, it’s a leadership development opportunity that builds real-world skills — communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and responsibility — while giving participants the chance to give back to the community they love. Participants work alongside Y staff, support younger campers, and gain hands-on experience that prepares them for future employment and life beyond camp. If your teen is ready to lead, this is where it starts.

The CIT & Leader’s Camp program are for young teens who are just entering the job environment.
The CIT track focuses on learning how to support and mentor younger campers, shadowing counselors, and developing skills needed to work in a camp setting. Leaders Camp emphasizes broader leadership, character development, and community responsibility through structured challenges and service opportunities.
The program prepares young teens by teaching them the skills they need to be effective leaders, responsible young adults, and build strong character. Though the program does not guarantee a position after completion, we actively encourage graduates to apply!
The program takes place each summer in tandem with our Summer Camp programs.
Participants develop communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, and mentoring skills. These are practical, real-world abilities that serve teens well in school, future employment, and community life.

Our leadership program offers two distinct pathways, each designed to build different skills while sharing the same core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Choose the track that fits your teen’s interests and goals.
The CIT track is for teens who want to experience camp from the other side. Participants shadow counselors, assist with camper activities, and develop the mentoring and communication skills needed to become a Y camp counselor.
Leaders Camp focuses on building character and community awareness through service, teamwork challenges, and leadership exercises. Participants take on greater responsibility, develop organizational skills, and leave with the confidence to lead in any setting.
