The Summerville Family YMCA gymnastics team posted several top performances at the Crown of the Carolinas Meet in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
The Level 6 team, consisting of Abigail Debney, Naomi DeCastro, Marley Eustace, Charlotte Schofield and Zoe Zenhye, took home third place at the event.
“The girls overcame many obstacles leading up to our first meet,” said head coach Jordan Devlin. “We still managed to perform and place. I am very proud of my girls. We are looking forward to our next meet.”
Individually, four competitors took home top three finishes in the respective events. Delainy Wright took home a first place win with a 9.475 on the balance beam.
Charlotte Schofield took home second place on the vault with an 8.75. Jayonna Snipes took home a pair of third-place finishes, posting a 9.35 on the balance beam and a 9.45 on floor exercise.
Alaina Williams placed third in the all-around competition with a total of 35.575. Her score of 9.225 on the beam also placed third.
The team will return to competition on Dec. 5-6 for the Silver Bells Invitational in North Charleston.
